About the Reverie
The Reverie is a privately owned ecological garden with woodland borders, pollinator-friendly planting and a number of small botanical-style plant collections. The cottage at the Reverie dates back to the early 1900s, as do the oldest trees in the garden, towering American oaks and mature maples that have witnessed more than a century of seasons.
Within the brief span of a human life, the current owners of the cottage and its grounds feel responsible as guardians and caretakers for their little patch on earth.
A responsibility to make sure they sustain and improve the garden in a context of environmentally challenging times for animals, the smallest insects, birds and wildlife.
So that the garden will flourish now, for their children, friends and family who come visit as a break from the pace of everyday life.
So that it will keep on flourishing for generations to come.
This website is a way for them to share a little bit of the magical place that is the Reverie, that they are continuously nurturing to see it grow with each season.
Every garden holds its own secrets
“We hope our gardens and the philosophy behind the choices we make will give you joy and inspiration, will help you further your own passion for gardening. And hopefully contribute a little bit to finding peace and calm, as much as it does for us and the people we love and hold dear.”
